The Xero range of medical laser devices, by Cosmeditech, needed a touch-screen UI / User Interface design. The screen size was fairly small (800 x 480px) – so the graphics had to be designed carefully, taking into account the size of people’s fingers, and the importance of each button.
The graphics had to be supplied as BMP files, with separate files for each button in the case of being pressed, or being active / inactive. It was also important to make each button universally understood… for different languages, also to leave room for new features / upgraded functionality.
