Adult themed logo & web design job for a Bangkok based escort agency. Many websites in this industry are quite tacky and tasteless, they wanted their website to be a little more classy and tasteful, providing a good user experience for their customers.
Logo Design & Branding
To get an idea of their vision, they showed me a number of logos that they liked, using the lips illustration to convey the industry. I created the lips drawing and used a classy font for the lettering. The logo can be used on light or dark backgrounds, and was supplied for all digital and print uses. The lips illustration can also be used as the social media profile image or the website icon.
The Web Design
I approached the website design much like any other, using an e-commerce functionality to present their catalogue of escorts. The purchase / buy now functionality was removed, simply adding a “Contact Me” button where you would expect the “Buy Now” button to be.
Using the e-commerce system allowed me to sort each profile page in categories, and also makes use of the well known ways to search for products, using a simple search bar if the visitor is searching by name, or a Tags system to sort the profiles by what services they offer.
Search Engine Optimisation
Obviously the content on this website is of an adult nature, which can cause issues with many forms of advertising and on search engines, as they do not approve of adult content in most cases. It is also difficult to share on most social media platforms, which makes it tricky to promote.
Of course it should never be easily found by children, but search engines have their own “adult content” filters that can be turned off, and these kind of websites will be found on their search results. So the website was build using the same SEO techniques as any other website that I build, making sure I cover all the bases.
There is also a network of similar websites within the adult industry who are happy to give you a backlink or advert, if you return the favour. However, this can backfire occasionally, if you are linking to an extremely bad website, it can damage your own search engine rankings. So it’s a bit of a minefield and has to be negotiated carefully.
Future support
The website is in the early stages and will be constantly updated with new profiles. So the website was set up for the owners to easily add new content. For this project, they preferred to use my ongoing services to update the website when needed, so they can be confident that each new profile is added properly and the website is kept functional.
