Recent design project for a Welsh Heritage installation. They required three large format panels to occupy a space on their walls, to convey the various industries that shaped their history. They wanted to focus on three different aspects, Maritime (as seen above), Pottery and the Railway.
Large Format Print Design
The client supplied a few design ideas for the style of these graphics, and had clear instructions for the text content and layout. But I had to create each design for high resolution print quality, which entailed a number of processes. The most important factor was to get the colours right, to match the colours of their interior decoration.
Multi Discipline Graphics
For large format, high resolution prints like these, it involved various techniques to create the finished product. The background designs were created using Vector based illustrations. The photographic elements were then added and faded into the illustrated backgrounds. Then finally, the typography was added using print production software to supply the finished print PDF.
