3D FLO approached me to design an e-commerce / shop web design to sell a large range of 3D printers and accessories. They had initially tried building their own website using Shopify, but had a few difficulties in creating the exact style and functionality that they wanted, so they asked me to step in and provide a professional shop website design, similar to a number of high ranking website examples they provided.

The Web Design
Simplicity, minimalistic design and functionality were the most important factors in this web design. We are not trying to re-invent the wheel! We are trying to create a shop web design that felt highly familiar to the general user. The owner asked me to categorise the products in both their purpose, and also by the brand of each product. And it was also important for the business owner to be able to manage the website in the future, to add new products.
Website Support & SEO
After building the initial website layout and structure, I then gave the owner access to start uploading products and content. When they had completed uploading their first batch of products and tweaking the general content, I went back in to tidy up the SEO structure before launching the website.
We also created a News / Blog section in order to give the website a generous amount of content related to the 3D Printing industry, so when the website was launched it would be fairly well positioned on search rankings. And for future website management, the owner simply needs to continue adding products and blog articles, to further improve the website rankings.
