After building the Render Surgeon website, the business owner wanted to start moving into e-commerce to start generating an income aside from their trade work. And with their knowledge and contacts in the render equipment supplies industry, they felt that they could create a one-stop-shop that would fill a gap that they spotted.
VISIT : RENDER SHOP ❏
E-commerce System
We initially created a shop section on the original Render Surgeon website, but the business owner wanted to turn this project into a stand alone website that acted entirely as a e-commerce website.
The shop initially sold bulk order supplies for the rendering industry, but over time they added more and more products, including tools and cleaning products. So the target audience started out as industry specialists, but then moved towards general public customers. And to compete with the top companies, the client focused on local customers, offering free delivery to cut out the delivery costs.
Local Delivery Website Costs
It was fairly simple to create postcode based shipping costs, allowing customers in specific South Wales postcode areas to get free shipping, after spending a certain amount. We could then focus the paid advertising on this specific area.
Additional Logo Design
To make it clear to website visitors that the shop section was different to their main trade services, I created a simple logo for the shop, which was placed on the home page and sidebars throughout the website. This logo was also added to each product image as a watermark.
Future Support
We have already set up a Google Shopping account, which can then be connected to their Google Ads account (which I also manage). So we will start advertising his products nationwide.
I gave the business owner full access to the website – along with one-to-one training on using the website, so they understand how to change prices, or add / remove products. But I will always keep a close eye on the website to ensure there are no errors that reduce the shop visibility on search engines.
