Geo Secure Strategies are a global risk management company who required a corporate style logo design and website design to launch their business. They supplied a PowerPoint presentation with all of the written content for the website, but were totally open to ideas about the style of the branding and web design.
Logo Design & Branding
I felt that the company needed to present a clean, corporate image which conveyed professionalism and trust. After supplying a selection of logo design ideas, the company were happy with the emblem icon shape which is made up of the letters G and O. I chose a kind of royal blue gradient for the logo, so we could use shades of strong blue throughout the website to tie in with the globe imagery.
I then supplied the finished logo in several formats and sizes for digital and print usage, also supplying the badge icon separately for use as a social media profile photo.
The Web Design
I created the web design using WordPress, using one of my own custom built themes that is highly flexible and very suitable for this corporate style website. Ease of navigation is one of the main priorities, especially when viewed on mobile, so there is a clear and obvious menu, alongside big obvious buttons throughout the website, creating a very easy journey for any visitor.
Of course, using nice shades of royal blue for the website accent colours, and reflecting the logo fonts throughout the website titles is important to continue the brand identity. And we sourced a range of stock photos to act as full width hero images throughout the website, to convey their different services.
Search Engine Optimisation / SEO
As with all of my web design projects, I make sure that I cover all of the bases for good SEO, ensuring all links and images have the appropriate tags, all pages have unique titles and so on. I also ensure that the website content is adequate before launching the website, as I find that if your SEO structure is all in place the first time a search engine sees your website, this gives you a head start. If there are errors on the website when launching, this can take a number of weeks or months to rectify, so it’s important to get it right initially.
Of course, for a lot of websites that have strong competition, it often takes lots of work to continually add good content to the website, such as a blog, to compete with the top companies, but I can gauge this on a case by case basis.
Future support
For all of my web design projects I keep an eye on their search engine rankings for a number of weeks, making sure there are no major issues. I also provide ongoing website maintenance for all of my customers, ensuring the websites are secure and regularly updated, if needed.
